SYMPATHY

The pastor and church family at Good Hope express our love and sympathy to Bernice Stevens in the death of her sister, Lila Roberts and to Mark and Wanda Singleton and their family in the death of Mark’s mother, Jane Singleton. “Blessed be the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulations.” 2 Corinthians 1: 3-4.

DEACON SELECTION

Next Sunday, August 19, 2012, two individuals will seek approval from the church to serve as deacons. We appreciate Avery Hamilton and Rick Rush for their leadership and faithfulness in serving the church family and the Lord the past three years.

WMU FALL TRAINING

Good Hope will be hosting the Waccamaw Baptist Association “Women’s Missionary Union Fall Training” event on August 13, 2012. All Good Hope ladies are invited to attend. It will begin at 5:30 pm with a meal. If you can contribute a dessert or congealed salad, please see Linda Hamilton or call 365-5180.

NEWS ALERT!! All men are invited. There will also be a class for the Brotherhood. This class will be taught by Mark Hendrick who is from Conway. Mark works in the office of Public Policy at the South Carolina Baptist Convention.

ICE CREAM FELLOWSHIP

We have been enjoying a church family fellowship each month through the summer. The last summer fellowship for this year will be on Sunday, August 26^th at 6:00 pm. Bring your favorite flavors of ice cream, sweet or unsweetened tea, soft drinks and any other snacks to enjoy.

COMMITTEES

All committees and groups need to meet and select chairpersons for the new church year which begins September 1^st. Please plan to meet before October 1^st.
